The new Administrative Measures On Trade Mark Agency issued by State Administration of Industry and Commerce on 12th July 2010 finally opens the market door to lawyers. According to this new rule, law firms are for the first time recognized as qualified trade mark agency organizations.
Though none of any laws or regulations prohibit law firms' trade mark agency business, law firms were denied as qualified trade mark agency and were not able to represent the clients in the process of trade mark registration etc. in the past.
